Festivus 5K for Autism to go ahead as a virtual race

This year’s Festivus 5K for Autism, a yearly Festivus-themed race held in scenic Salem, Massachusetts, will go ahead as a virtual competition.

The annual race raises funds to help children with autism and their families. To date, over $120,000 has been raised.

Due to COVID-19, this years race will be held individually. Participants are asked to run or walk their 5K anytime between December 13, 2020 through December 20, 2020.

There is a registration fee of $25/runner. Funds raised go toward funding COVID-19 education expenses for students with autism at the Northshore Education Consortium in Beverly, MA.

T-shirts will be given to the first 250 runners. As well, certificates will be awarded to the top ten male and female runners; best male, female, and youth costume; farthest 5K from Salem; top fundraising team; top 10 grievances; best selfie; earliest 5K; latest 5K.
