However the pole in the public square is a more strategic 2-inch PVC pipe with shiny aluminum duct tape wrapped around it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I didn\u2019t want to take the chance that someone would steal it for the aluminum, or use it to damage something,&#8221; Paul explained.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s smart thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Paul, a self-described atheist, has said, &#8220;He observes Festivus rather than<br \/>\ncelebrates it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In <em><a href=\"https:\/\/festivusweb.com\/festivus-book.php\">Festivus The Book<\/a><\/em>, Paul equates the erecting of the Festivus pole as an educational point, especially since it is normally placed next to holiday season religious displays.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an attempt to let others know that there were people in the community that didn\u2019t believe exactly the same thing. So, it was kind of a challenge, but one that would hopefully bring a smile to one\u2019s face.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Besides, Paul is a huge <em>Seinfeld<\/em> fan, and we just know the inherent humor associated with Frank Costanza&#8217;s Festivus pole likely brings a smile to his face too.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Paul has said that he has heard a few negative remarks about the pole, but dozens of positive remarks about the display as well.<\/p>\n<p>This year, for example, there was a request for the pole, which meant it went up a little earlier than usual.<\/p>\n<div id=\"js_x\" class=\"_3058 _ui9 _hh7 _6ybn _s1- _52mr _3oh-\" data-tooltip-content=\"Wednesday 06:48\" data-hover=\"tooltip\" data-tooltip-position=\"left\">\n<div class=\"_aok\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"_3oh- _58nk\">&#8220;I got a message from a local running group who like to make an annual pilgrimage to the Dillsburg Festivus Pole for a photo op,&#8221; Paul said. &#8220;They were asking when the pole will be up. So, I figured I&#8217;d go ahead and put it up.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Another Festivus miracle!<\/p>\n<p>Happy Festivus Paul!
